Our product comes from European certified organic cows on European certified organic farms, meaning there have been no herbicides or pesticides used on the farm for at least five years. This is the strictest certification available in Europe today, and the soil is tested for contaminants on a regular basis.

Yes. The cows are treated with the utmost care, fed natural grass and are given only homeopathic treatments. They’re never given antibiotics or hormones, and they’re never exposed to pesticides or given animal by-products in their feed. All cows are tested for B.S.E. and Parainfluenza on an annual basis. And don’t worry, calves get all the colostrum they need. Cows produce eight times more colostrum than their calves can use. After the calf has its fill, the excess colostrum can then be taken and turned into powdered form to be used as a supplement.

Pasteurization is the process of taking a fluid and exposing it in an extremely rapid fashion to a sudden increase in temperature for a short period of time and then restoring the “pasteurized” liquid back to its chilled state. Colostrum is typically pasteurized at 161 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 seconds, destroying the important ingredients. Spray drying is another processing method where an extremely thin stream of fluid is sprayed onto a drum heated to 240 degrees Fahrenheit. Both methods greatly reduce the bacterial content of the liquid, which is great ... but it’s at the cost of the nutritional content contained in unpasteurized colostrum. Nearly all proteins “denature” around 120 degrees Fahrenheit, rendering them ineffective amino acids. Growth factors are also “denatured” above 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The only way to really get “nutritionally effective” colostrum is to refine it under total refrigeration. That’s why we use only our patented 4-step cold-processed ultra-filtrated process.
